Problems with Quest and Pico versions
I am aware that the star rendering in these versions has stopped working. It is due to changes in the operating systems of the VR glasses and the SDKs, something common in the software industry, as inevitable as it is annoying.
The only solution is to update the applications, reprogram them, find out why they have stopped working and implement new solutions, whenever possible. It is a lot of work and I have many applications to "maintain". Honestly, I do not have that much time and I must dedicate myself to new developments, learn new technologies...
Until now when I have detected these problems I have tried to solve them, as with my Ringworld and Alien Desert applications, which I have been migrating from the Oculus DK2 version. But I can no longer continue. This will be the last time I do it. When they stop working for these reasons beyond my control, they will be there for the memory.
The PC VR version has not been affected by this problem but since I am working with it I have decided to update it by changing the Oculus SDK to the open standard OpenXR in an attempt to make it last as long as possible, as well as changing the default initial loading of stars.
